K-Map appearance can easily be customized to promote your own brand. Accessing, organizing and sharing Knowledge Maps with a logo or design that strengthening your topics, brand or appeal.
You can easily adjust how the design of your K-Map shall look like using existing or customize your own Correlate themes. You have following alternative approaches with Themes :
- Use predefined and create new themes
- Change appearance for graphical items
- Include background and watermark images
With these options you can tailor the appearance of the Correlate K-Map or Correlate solutions to fit your mood, the topics or your audience.
- User can change or create own Correlate Theme details
- Standard themes can be changed and will effect all KMA with same themes
- Custom changes can be made to all Theme items in a K-Map
- Sharing a K-Map with a custom Theme included in the K-Map
- Deployment of new standard Correlate Themes for branding purposes
HOW TO USE AND MAKE CORRELATE THEMES
To select, change or create your K-Map look, use menu command
FILE->OPTIONS->THEMES
Choose the Options command from the K-Map menu, switch to the Customize page and click the Themes Options button to list themes that you can pick from to change the appearance of many elements simultaneously.
Use existing Themes
You can pick from existing themes or create and save your own themes. The selected theme is used for the current K-Map only, and can also be set as the default theme for all new K-Maps, by clicking the Set Default button.
In each theme you can set the colors, sizes and formats for the items, relations and instructions in the outline, the color and style of the outline lines, the graphics for the outline buttons, and the background color or pattern for the workspace.
A Theme design consist of:
- ITEM TEXT: design elements: Font, Size, Color and Bold,Italics and Underline
- RELATION TEXT : Design elements which can be changed include Font, Size, Color, Bold,Italics and Underline
- INSTRUCTION TEXT: Delimitered with «». Instructions will be replaced when user add none content to the item. Designelements include Font, Size, Color, Bold,Italics and Underline
- BACKGOUND. Can be configured with
- NONE (White),
- COLOR, where you can chose color for whole page,
- TILE ( An image ) where you can select an bit map image
- PATTERN, a repeating image size 8×8 pixels
BUTTONS. Can be configured with
- None
- Folder
- Explorer
- Custom icons. Choose an image, which contains 4 graphical elements (16x16pixels) within one GIF file of 64 x 16 pixels size. To be a theme, the filename must include _Icons.gif
- None
- Solid
- Dashed
- Dotted
User can change or create own Correlate Theme details
- Standard themes can be changed and will effect all KMA with same themes
- Custom changes can be made to all Theme items in a K-Map
- Sharing a K-Map with a custom Theme included in the K-Map
- Deployment of new standard Correlate Themes for branding purposes
Technical specifications for Themes
All standard themes are installed during Correlate Client Installshield process. These themes are copied to a predefined sub folder – ..Themes and naming convention defines which elements are to be used for a theme.
A Theme consist of following components and naming conventions:
- Stylesheet: themesname.XML
- Optionals:
- Background: themesname_BG.GIF (image format)
- Icon: themesname_ICONS.GIF
